About
My mission is to bridge the gap between scientists, policymakers, and local practitioners, ensuring that the latest scientific advancements are applied in daily practice.
I am dedicated to addressing climate change, adapting urban landscapes to its challenges, enhancing the ecosystem services provided by trees, and advocating for the conservation of large urban trees.
My focus is on reshaping urban forestry, arboriculture, and landscape architecture to better combat climate change and reduce these industries' carbon footprints. A key part of my vision is reallocating some of the substantial budgets for sustainability and climate protection toward preserving the mature trees we already have.
As an inventor, entrepreneur, and president of the NGO Urban Tree Offset Initiative z.s., I am developing a patent-pending carbon offset program specifically for urban trees. This initiative aims to generate additional funding for local governments, enabling advanced tree care practices to protect large trees and enhance their ecosystem services, including carbon sequestration.
To further these goals, I deliver keynote speeches at conferences worldwide and host webinars for both professionals and the general public.
My background is in economics and information systems, and my career began in global corporations.
Since 2004, I have worked alongside my wife, pioneering innovations across marketing, publishing, landscaping, and tree care. One of our recent contributions is TREEIBĀ®, a groundbreaking solution for watering large, established urban trees. TREEIBĀ® not only offers a lifeline to urban trees but also opens new business opportunities for tree care professionals through innovative watering methods.
I grow majority of our food.
